Niamh also speaks about what she has learned as a psychologist working with elite sports people for almost twenty-five years, including her role as HQ Psychologist with the Irish Olympic team at three Olympic Games and her work as psychological advisor to competitors from a wide variety of sports. Exercise Physiologist – Giles Warrington
Niamh collaborates with colleagues from physiology and nutrition in order to provide a holistic programme that helps people achieve their potential in business, sport or life. By working together and bringing together the science behind each discipline, along with the learnings from the world of elite sport, they deliver programmes to deal with both mind and body and thus cater for the person in totality. Educational, entertaining, interesting and practical, these programmes are jam packed with proven strategies for success. The method of delivery is corporate wellness programmes or public workshops. Giles has a BSc in Sports Science and a PhD in Sports and Exercise Physiology. He is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Physiology in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) at the University of Limerick. He is an Irish Institute of Sport (IIS) accredited Performance Physiologist. Giles was previously employed by the British Olympic Association as a Sport and Exercise Physiologist and is currently Head Sports Physiologist and Sports Science Advisor to the Olympic Council of Ireland. He was a member of the Irish medical team at the Athens, Beijing and London Olympic Games and is currently part of the support team preparing athletes for Rio 2016. Over the past 25 years Giles has gained a wealth of experience having worked with elite athletes and coaches from a range of individual and team sports, both Olympic/Paralympic and non-Olympic, these have included over 50 European, World and Olympic medallists. Giles has also been involved in extensive business engagement in the areas of corporate wellbeing and peak performance.
Nutritional Therapist – Nichola Forrest - B.A. HDipEd, DipNut IINH, ITEC, FETAC).
Nichola is a Nutritional Therapist whose speciality lies in working with the specific needs of every individual she sees, whether they want to reach and maintain their ideal weight, find nutritional ways to improve the symptoms of common ailments (digestive, hormonal, skin, mood), or improve their overall energy levels and performance in work, sporting or home environments. Nutritional therapy is rooted in medical science, yet looks at the body in a holistic way. Nichola has a varied clientele including business people, housewives and elite athletes, both Irish and international. She has worked with teams who have won All Ireland Senior Camogie, Hurling and Football County and Inter-County titles, as well as with top level international athletes. She has a regular slot on Southeast Radio where she talks about nutrition. Nichola’s goal with every client is to pinpoint their specific nutritional needs and help them to improve their quality of life, performance in the workplace and ability to reach their potential.
